There are two more typical “little” problems that can occur on the pump housing: drying out / loss of pliability of the o-rings and corrosion / seizure of bolts and nuts. Problems with the o-rings occur due to the humid environment within the pump. Water washout can remove the lubricant from them, causing them to dry out and lose their sealing properties. You can prevent this by applying Loctite LB 8104 before assembly.
As to the power end jack bolts, clamp bolts or jam nuts, you can prevent them from rusting and seizing by liberally applying Loctite Marine grade Anti Seize to the threads. This will allow for the easy adjustment of the bolts when needed, as well as for easy disassembly.
